KASSANDRA EDUCATION Kassandra educates in cross-cultural interaction, holds arts workshops especially for women and schoolchildren, and organizes courses for teachers. The pleasure of making art, meeting new cultures and genuine interaction among diverse groups of people offer unique experiences and create memorable moments. Teachers Taide tuo tietoa (Art gives information), a project sponsored by Finnish National Board of Education, offers participants an opportunity to benefit from Kassandra’s expertise and experience in encountering multicultural reality. The course is held by Kassandra’s own artists and experts and multicultural encounter is approached through arts. During autumn 2011 three Kulttuurimatkan eväät (Equip yourself for a cultural voyage) courses will be organized for teachers and instructors in Espoo, Helinä Rautavaara museum. Youth Kassandra is organizing a 5 day intensive theatre course, in August, for 12-17 year old girls and boys with immigrant background. During the theatre camp participants will have a unique chance to work with professionals. Schoolchildren Kassandra’s courses for schoolchildren take place in Helsinki and Espoo schools. They are held twice a week for 5 weeks. The courses are free of charge. Nursery schools Kassandra holds art workshops in nursery schools. The workshops are fun and kids love them!
