The Martha Organization is a home economics extension organization, which was founded in 1899 to promote the quality and standard of life in the home. It also carries out cultural and civic education.

The organization has 50 000 members who belong to 1 600 clubs in 16 districts. The extension work is implemented by 60 specialists all over the country.

YMarttaliitto is a member of the Nordic Women Association and of the Associated Country Women of the World (ACWW). At present Marttaliitto funds a development cooperation project in Burkina Faso where women's working groups receive training in skills and knowledge conducive to better well-being of their families.
